Widely regarded as the "one that works," the Edmark Reading Program helps students who need an alternative to phonics. The Edmark Reading Program ensures success to students of all ages who have not yet mastered beginning reading.
The key to this success is the program's use of a carefully sequenced, highly repetitive word recognition method combined with errorless learning. This approach eliminates incorrect responses and helps students view themselves as readers.
The lessons and activities incorporate animated graphics, short instructional steps, repetition and audio cues to encourage reading success. Provides constant positive feedback to promote self-confidence and independent skills in students as well as errorless learning, use of manipulatives, oral and sight vocabulary, social skills enrichment and continuous progress monitoring.
Learning Opportunities include 200 words from the Dolch Word List and basal readers, extensive comprehension practice of words, phrases and stories, visual memory of words, left-to-right reading/tracking, thinking and discrimination skills and association between oral language and print.
Students can interact with the program using a variety of devices including a mouse, touch screen, alternate keyboards, and single switches.
Software includes Overview, Mastery Test, 5 Lesson Plan/Record Books, Word Recognition Books 1-3, Picture Match cards and boards, Phrase Match cards and boards, Stories 1-3, Reading and Social Skills Games, 2 Display Masks, Word Signs DVD, 5 The Rides and certificates.
