Differentiate Learning in Activities-to-Go

Finding ways to tailor your lessons for all your student’s needs can be difficult, especially as we are now struggling to provide instruction virtually. Boardmaker is here to help you deliver lessons at varying levels of difficulty based on each student’s ability.

Each unit of Activities-to-Go has three levels of books. Because each unit focuses on one topic, you can use materials from any level to extend, enrich, and customize learning. For example, have your learner practice reading Level A books independently and read Level B books together. Have your more advanced learners practice fluency skills by having them read books from the level below their target level.

You can use the activities from the same unit across levels, too. The same symbol set can be found throughout the unit, providing consistency and familiarity for your learner and flexibility for you to customize the learning experience. If the web in levels B and C are too challenging, try substituting it with the Hidden Picture activity from Level A. Both activities build background knowledge about the topic.

These are just a couple of ideas to get you started. The teacher guide in each unit of Boardmaker Activities-to-Go also offers tips for learning and communication.
